I finally played RPG game on my brand new PSP — in fact, the huge number of RPG titles on PSP is the reason why I bought this portable console — and Jeanne D’Arc is my first choice. I’ve already heard lots of good review about this turn-based RPG strategy game and now I understand why Jeanne D’Arc scored high on most reviews. Simply said, because it ROCKS!

Since it based on popular Jeanne of Arc’s character, I’m not going to talk about the story (it’s twisting excellent anyway). But I must said that Level 5, the developer, has succesfully able to make the storytelling more interesting by combining animated scene and anime movie clip. Well, not something new actually, but I still enjoy it.

In short, you’ll follow Jeanne’s journal to fight England out of France. Along her journey, more and more heroes will help and fight alongside her. Each with different capabilities, including some with the same “GOD”-power like Jeanne. Regarding this GOD-power, any characters who posses it will be able to transform themself and regain strong power and additional skills. However, they can only transform once per battle, so you have to strategically choose your battle tactics.

All I can say, if you have PSP, you HAVE to play Jeanne D’Arc. Addictive guarantee

I finally figured out the solution of unrecognized memory card problem in PSP. Today, the same thing happen again (my PSP stopped working and when I restarted it, it won’t recognized my memory card) and I solved it by simply plug out the memory card and plug it in again. Once I did it, my PSP start recognizing the card like normal.

However, I can’t still figure out why my PSP behave like that. Anyone experience the same thing?

Couple days ago, while playing Jeanne D’Arc, my PSP suddenly stopped working. And the worst thing is, after I shut it down and turn it on again, it won’t recognized the memory card! WTH!!! I then connected it to my laptop, see if the card can be read from the computer, but nope, it didn’t work. Heck, I can’t even format it — either from PC or directly from PSP — as it always said that there’s no memory card inserted.

Frustrated, I went to the store (there’s a mall near my house, less than 500 meters away) and bought a new memory card. The same one that I ‘thought’ was already broken. A 4GB high-speed memory stick pro duo from Sony. Back home, I replace the old card with the new one, and…. it doesn’t work! My PSP still unable to recognize the card and said that there’s no memory card inserted.

I finally contacted the store where I bought the PSP and told them about the problem. He said that he need to see the PSP first to figure out the problem. Since I already got some other important schedule at that time, I said to him that I’ll go there in the next few days.

But miracle happens.

This morning, I turned on my PSP, and guess what… it worked just fine! The memory card, both the new and the old one, can be read, and all the games inside can be loaded perfectly. I’m now back with Jeanne, slashing those Englishmen away from France.

However, I wonder, what the hell is the problem anyway? Why does my PSP unable to recognize the memory card, but then suddenly able to? Anyone has some explaination?

Well, there are some dating sim games for PSP outthere. But most of them are in Japanese, so it kinda refreshing to have one in English. That’s one of the biggest reason why I put this game on my must-play-first list. And yes, i did play it “first”… after beating Virtua Tennis 3’s World Mode and getting stuck on level 4 of Ultimate Ghost ‘N Goblins.

Eventhough “playboy” isn’t my middle name, I do love playing any dating sim title. And despite the lack of freedom in the gameplay, I enjoy playing Brooktown High: Senior Year as well. Lots of girl, lots of activities, lots of possibilities.

However, again, limited gameplay is the biggest flaw on this game. For example, you only have 2 minutes before class on each week to socialize with your friends (talk, make friend, find a date, run errand, etc). After that, on Saturday, you get around 8 minutes to either study, play mini games, or do stuff with your computer. Good thing, if you manage to get a date, you can skip that boring activities with dating on a beach, restaurant, etc.

Overall, I love Brooktown High: Senior Year and I’d love to see more dating sim title for PSP in the future. In English of course.

This really brings back memories. I don’t know when was the last time I’ve played this game. I don’t care. All I know that the Ghost ‘N Goblins series were all wonderful and fun to play. And the same thing applies to the third installment of the saga, the Ultimate Ghost ‘N Goblins.

Anything from the previous two titles can be expected from the Ultimate. Including a hard-as-hell gameplay and tons of never ending enemies. The funny thing, somehow the game is still enjoyable.

Honestly, I’ve never finished the game before. So I really hope I can beat Ultimate Ghost ‘N Goblins this time.

Now go kill those monsters, Arthur!

My first PSP game! The reason I played it first? Because the X360 version hasn’t arrived here yet and I can’t hardly wait to play it.

Overall, Virtua Tennis 3 is a good game. I have only played the World Tour mode (somekind of Career mode) and it’s definitely to build your skill through out several available practice area. You can then make your way up to the top (you’ll start at rank 300) by participating on yearly tennis tournament. If you play real good, some tennis players would also ask you for a practice match session.

Other pros for Virtua Tennis 3 is that you can customize your character. If you change his/her sportwear, it would affect his/her appearance on the match as well. At the beginning of the game, you also have a chance to modify your character’s profile (including his/her basic appearance).

Oh btw, your character can get an accident sometimes. If he/she did, depend on the injury, you have to wait couple of weeks (game time of course) to heal his/her injuries before you can play again. For every 3 recovering weeks, you’ll lose a level of your skill. Ouch!

Bad thing about this game? Can’t seem to find any. Yet. Except that you might get bored after hours of repeated gameplay. Honestly, I already started to feel it… but I’m going to finish it and make my character gets the number 1 rank in tennis world before I stop playing Virtua Tennis 3 (and start playing another game). Wish me luck!
